學琴的階梯
在任何情況下，Tim Sir認為必須要以學生興趣為大前提下，遷就學生的學習進度，踏實地步上成功學琴的階梯。
我們知道很多正確的方法和知識，可是不是愈早教便愈好。選擇教的時間也是成功的關鍵。
以下內容Tim Sir會總結各級數層需要面對的重點問題。而這些問題不是只在這級數層才學，而是這個階段的學習重點。
0-2級
這個階段學生需熟習認音和建立找音的能力。認音比掌握節奏更重要。因為你不可能彈出一首歌是音錯但節奏準，反而節奏不準還可以在音準下聽出是什麼歌。在學生熟習了樂章後才能要求節奏。由於節奏不是知識，知識懂了便是了，但節奏是肌肉的協調，所以是急不了。
肌肉的協調會隨著練習的次數和時間的增長而提升。所以若是在這個起步點固執地要求節奏的精準是不切實際及削減學生的興趣。必須澄清不是不教節奏，而是要提供充分的空間讓學生嘗試彈出正確節奏的過程，接受他們在失敗中嘗試，不要批判他們而是給予正面鼓勵。
3-5級
更正習慣
當學生習慣了認音便可以開始引導更正習慣如視奏時眼球的移動、指法等。
記憶壓縮
這個階段最需要的是要把記憶壓縮，由從前獨立認音，現在要把CEG壓縮成C大調和弦。因為日後高級的樂章和弦更豐富，單一認音不夠快。若沒有做好這個階段，視奏能力趕不上級數的需要，接下來便是漸漸地失去興趣。
肢體的運用
彈琴不只是用手指，手腕、手臂、搏頭、身體都能發力。Tim Sir認為最終目標靈活地運用這些部位來幫助我們處理音晰。所以在良好的認音基礎下應開始慢慢地滲入運用肢體處理音晰。 要知道早開始，早思考，為高級鋪路。
6-8級
樂章較從前的長2-4頁，練習時間隨著年齡愈大變得愈少。有效的練習方法可節省時間。可是方法不難教，反而是順從教不了。視奏方面，學生應已有一定的閱譜速度至不影響進度。
演奏級
樂章較從前的長，約10頁一首歌。此時練習的技巧、視奏的能力應已上了軌道。此時我們追度的樂章的處理-音晰。
從小都是由老師給予提示，這個級數的學生需學習從上文下理、時代背景，樂句長短設計大細聲、連音、跳音、斷音等。。。
建立自我學習系統
所有時期的學生
學習，不論是學琴還是學語文數理；填鴨式教學法只能複製學生的能力而不能發輝學生的能力。 曾氏希望學生能自主學習以及延展鋼琴課於課外時間，因此建立學生的自我學習系統是必要的。
學習離不開「問題」和「解難」。透過愉快學習，我們已陪養了學生的學習興趣和動機。下一步便是透過解難的方法，灌輸解難的邏輯。懂了這邏輯，學生能解決更多我們意料之外的問題。 建立學習系統並非一朝一夕，於初級時建立與學生對答的方式，堅守引導式回答而不是直接作答。久而久之學生習慣了這種模式。中級時，曾氏會教授練琴的方法(例加速、節奏、矯正重覆犯錯。。。)。因學生已掌握解難的邏輯，因此他們才會明白曾氏的練琴方法。 亦因為明白才會主動使用。方法亦需要時間去明白和掌握。當掌握後便能應付更高級的難度(8級以上)。
